MESSAGE FROM GERALD WOLFE

1. Read the Haydn text in rhythm faster than our tempo. Read the Handel texts with expression and exaggerated consonants. Rehearse any trouble spots you may still have.

2. Please hold your folder up high so that you can see me just above it. Then sing with my beat, not with what you hear. Thanks.

MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT

Hello Everyone!
Well, Here we are at our last day for rehearsal before concert night! This season has certainly flown by. I'd like to extend a special thanks to all of you who put in extra time to ensure that rehearsals went smoothly, and those of you who put in extra time outside of rehearsals to make sure that the business and fundraising end of the chorus went smoothly as well. This season was very challenging because of role turnover, but we've done it! Thanks for pulling together and ensuring a successful chorus season.

Just a few logistical items:

Registration for Spring Season

Registration forms and information sheets for the Spring season are now on the Web site: www.ithacacommunitychorus.clarityconnect.com.

Concert CDs

CD order forms are also on the Web site, and will be available near the sign-in sheets this evening.

Tickets

Be sure to return monies and unsold tickets by tonight to our Ticket Coordinator Sunny Gooding. If you need to leave tickets at the door, place them in a small clearly marked envelope, and give them to Sunny.

Post-Concert Party

Attached to the newsletter are directions to Barbara Friedman's house for the post-concert party. Remember to bring a dish or beverage to share. I will also have some printed directions available at rehearsal tonight and tomorrow night for those who cannot print them from the newsletter.

Help Needed Assembling Concert Programs!

We need help stuffing programs! If you are available to come a bit early this evening, we will begin stuffing programs at 5:30. If needed, stuffing will continue at my house tomorrow at 1pm. Email me or call me if you are able to come tomorrow. 533-0075 or bellamayophoto@hotmail.com. My address is 162 Ludlowville Rd Apt 7 (in the rear of the giant brick building) in Ludlowville in Lansing I can provide coffee, tea, and some Spanish treats.

Thanks! And stay well, or get well if you aren't already!
Steph Meyer
ICC Chorus VP

Dress Rehearsal Tonight

Friday January 11
Chamber singers: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Please change into dry, supportive shoes/sneakers for standing during rehearsal and to avoid tracking in slush. Heel height should be the same as in the shoes you'll be wearing at the concert.

Please – no food or beverages other than water in Sanctuary. You may bring water in a securely covered cup.

MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY CHORUSES HOST BED & BREAKFAST AS FUND-RAISER

Consider hosting family members and friends of graduating students during the Cornell’s Commencement weekend (May 24-25, 2008). The hosts provide beds and simple breakfasts. The visiting families pay an established fee per night directly to ICC. The funds raised significantly contribute to supporting the Ithaca Community Choruses’ activities.

Choose to host couples or singles – whatever suits your particular circumstances. Having guests stay for 2-3 nights with breakfast each morning benefits programs of the Choruses.

Cornell’s graduation information booklet and the internet inform families of the B&B programs offered by the Choruses and other not-for-profit groups.

Families have started calling for accommodations, so if you have questions or are interested in hosting for 2008, please be in touch with me. Many thanks.
Diana Nathanielsz, ICC B&B Coordinator, 607-257-6765, <dnathani@twcny.rr.com>.
