MESSAGE
FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT
Hello Chorus,
Well, the end of the semester is
upon us, and it is time for us all to come together to make it a successful one!
It is time to start volunteering for all of the little projects that occur near
the end of the semester. Picking up one of these small, generally one-time volunteer
opportunities really makes the lives of your board members (and our further steering
committee) a lot easier. At this point, we are spending a number of hours per
week getting the heavier jobs taken care of, and as much as we obviously enjoy
making the chorus run, we can't hold the fort by ourselves. Please volunteer.
If you have teenagers or friends who might like to help out (with ushering), feel
free to put them in contact!
The Chamber Singers Concerts are next weekend. So far, I have one person who is willing to help. We need more than one person, obviously, so please contact me if you would like to usher (free admission!) or sell tickets at the door.
Saturday April 26, Grace Cortland (get there at about 7pm), we need 3 or 4 ushers, and 1 or 2 people to sell tickets.
Sunday, April 27th at the Unitarian Church (get there at about 7:30pm), we need 3-4 ushers and maybe one more person to sell tickets.
This Sunday, at 4pm, Cortland Grace concert, selling tickets for our concerts. We need someone to go to Grace, enjoy an amazing concert, sell some tickets, and schmooze with music folk. Honestly, if the program was not looming over me this weekend, I would loooooove to be doing this! The only person that I've found to take this on is busy until after 4, so would have to drive to Cortland, miss most of the concert, sell tickets, and come home, making it feel like a chore (when she is already juggling a lot of other chorus responsibility). If someone else has the time to go see a free, great concert, please let me know as soon as possible: bellamayophoto@hotmail.com, or 342-5719
Tickets: Remember to sell tickets. This is really going to be one of our best concerts. Honestly, preparing to move, I am realizing what an amazing gift it is to be able to a part of giant productions like this--people need to see us. We ARE very good, the orchestra is going to be great, we have a boy soprano, and amazing soloists, all for 12$. At the movies, you can get a popcorn and soda for 12$. Go figure.
Program stuffing will take place at 6pm on Friday May 2nd, during concert week. Last year, we stuffed 500 programs in less than 30 minutes. Let's do it again!
Post-concert party: Have any questions? Would you like to host? Let us know!
Time for gratitude:
Thank you, thank you Elizabeth
Mount, for the stunning posters! You've outdone yourself, yet again!
Welcome a-Board (har har, pun intended), to Janine Willis, Tamara Lovell, and David Woodard! We are so glad to have you, and look forward to our first meeting together!
Next week, come to rehearsal at 6:30 to hear Marty's pre-concert speech! Thanks, Marty.
And thank you, chorus, for sounding sooooo amazing at rehearsal. Again, this is going to be a fabulous concert.
If you would like to volunteer for any of the upcoming opportunities, please contact me. bellamayophoto@hotmail.com, or 342-5719.
Be
Well Everyone!
