Ithaca Community Choruses -- SummerSing 2008
 

SummerSing is a choral project of the Ithaca Community Choruses. Everyone is welcome to join; you do not have to know how to read music and there are no auditions.

Rehearsals will be every Monday evening from June 9 - August 4. Rehearsals are from 7:00 – 9:00pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church (basement), Ithaca, NY. The Summer Singers had the honor of performing at the Luminary Ceremony for the America Cancer Society's Relay For Life in both 2006 and 2007.

Registration is $40. If you'd like to join SummerSing 2008, please fill out a registration form and bring it with you to the rehearsal or come early to register on site.

About Our Director:

Katie Rohr Howell is the vocal music teacher at Horseheads Intermediate and High Schools. She is a former assistant director of VOICES Multicultural Chorus.

Katie received a bachelor's degree in music education from Ithaca College and a master's degree in music education from the Eastman School of Music. In the summer of 2000, she had the great privilege of traveling to Kimberlay, South Africa with the Kimberley Project, where she taught music to high school and middle school aged students and learned traditional South African songs from local musicians.

Ms. Howell creates a relaxed yet robust atmosphere for SummerSing.
